A Home Flip, Styled Staging Success Story

Who says you can't insert your own personal design style into your staging job, right?

That's why I absolutely love this post that Angeline Kelly of Apple Blossom Staging and Design in Waverly, Iowa shared one of her favorite stages!  Heads up, this home sold the first week and now the client is sold on her.  Taking a style risk paid big!

In this home flip and styled staging success story, Angeline Kelly goes boho and gets RAVE reviews...check it out:

How to Style Your Stagings to Stand-Out

A Few Keys to Styling Your Staging's Correctly

As you can see from the video above, Angeline took a risk but it was clearly based on the story that the home was telling her beforehand.  Here's some tips on adding your own style to your stagings and reading the story the home wants to tell you:

  • Work with the age and architectural style of the home...mid-century and boho work with these older, craftsman style homes
  • Go bolder with color and take risks in the small spaces of older homes to add personality
  • Choose on-trend furnishings to make it modern and relevant (see my Staging, Design and Color Trends Training video to know what's hot right now!
  • Mix-in vintage pieces for older homes to add texture and truth
  • For dark wood trimmed rooms, go cream/off-white (not white) with your with your neutral color (See my "6-Steps to Creating Ideal Color Schemes" training to know how to pick the right white)
  •  Don't forget to add lots of texture, textiles and greenery

As you can see from the video above, staging is an art form NOT a formula.  People who have had a passion for design ALL their lives go into the staging and design field because they have been training themselves on the rules of design all their lives.
