2022 Staging Trends...Hot or Not?
Next week I'm giving a free, live workshop on the "2022 Design, Color, Business and Staging Trends" we are going to be seeing in the coming years and BOY, is it going to get wild! There has been a "Great Shift" since Covid in all things business, design and especially real estate and staging, so we are going to talk about that and the fact that one of the HUGE trends we are seeing is the use of green in design and staging.
Will Green be a Lasting Staging Trend of Fad?
When you have ALL the major paint companies pick some form of green for their "Color of the Year" you have to wonder...is green a little too popular?
I think yes and it may be a fad for kitchen cabinets rather than a long-lasting trend...what do you think?
We are going to discuss and vote on that in the staging trends workshop next week, so make sure to RSVP to see hundreds of designers vote. There's no wrong answer but these are important questions we have to ask ourselves as designers since we don't want to specify a color that will speak to a time period in a matter of years.
I know I'm in the minority believing that green is going to spark-out when it comes to kitchen cabinets but it was not that long ago everyone was painting their kitchen cabinets blue and that trend faded very quickly into a fad.
I also asked my Stagers Connect community what their thoughts on green were and got over 150 comments and photos of how home stager's and designer's are using green in spaces.
How Stager's Are Using the Hot Green Staging Trend:
Designer's Are Loving the Green Trend
As you can see from the video above, I'm in the minority when it comes to green and designers are loving this color! My old staging business partner and sister Corrine who still stages and is a top designer in the Santa Cruz area disagrees with me and is using green a TON!
Check out my sister Corrine's budget staging kitchen transformation using Magnolia Celery Seed:
Can you believe that's the SAME kitchen? The miracle of staging and renovating for resell!
In the video above, many people shared photos of their favorite green paint colors and how they were using them but here are just a few of my favorites from the video:
Sage green is a popular design and staging trend these days for kitchen cabinets and Uproots Design used Sherwin Williams Acacia Haze beautifully in the photo above.
This spectacular redesign of a baby room by Room Sense Staging features Sherwin Williams Billiard Green as a dramatic backdrop to the custom gold lettering of her name.
Nancy Kates creates pure drama in this bathroom design using Current Mood by Clare Paint. This picture looks like it belongs in a magazine and I LOVE the reflected painting and light fixture in the mirror.
The top three photos showcase the versatility of the green design and staging trend!
Here's a few more just to inspire you...
