6 Steps to Overcome Imposter Syndrome as a Stager
Are you struggling with not feeling confident enough to become a stager?
I get it and in this video blog post I'm going to give you 6 keys to overcoming imposter syndrome that will help you feel confident in your design and staging business. I'm also going to showcase some gorgeous staging photos from Jackie Low (JLow from Waco) who brought up this topic in our private Stagers Connect group:

- Recognize it is Very Real: Did you know that 82% of people regardless of experience and knowledge struggle with "imposter syndrome" in their fields. As "creatives" I bet that number is a whole lot higher, so it's key to understand you are not alone and it's perfectly natural to doubt yourself.
- Celebrate Your Success While Trusting Your Gift: Just because you do not have formal education in design does not mean you don't have incredible talent! I've trained thousands of successful stagers and designers and the truth is that they have been "training themselves and cultivating their gift for design since they were children" so trust it. My HSR Certified Staging training helps you take that gift and turn it into a successful business which will give you confidence but you already have the natural talent. Celebrate it and cultivate it, trusting it will only get better as you grow.
- Let Go of Perfectionism: Why is this so hard for us to do? We are so tough on ourselves (especially us women) and the truth is... no one notices your design imperfections or hiccups but you.
- Cultivate Self-Kindness: It's okay to make a mistake the key is to own it and don't beat yourself up over it.
- Share Your Failures: If you watched the video above, you got a serious glimpse of a few of my failures and weaknesses. The truth is that people relate when you are vulnerable, so being honest about mistakes of the past is something to learn from.
- Use It to Drive Yourself to Be Better: Feeling imposter syndrome is a natural way to drive us to be better at what we do...learn more, become better educated and create more beautiful designs with each job. This inner drive of insecurity will actually help your business do more!
Thank you Jackie for sharing your talent! This is an amazing industry because of people like you.
